How I got started shooting
I started shooting competetively while a student at the Joint & Combined Warfighting School in April 2010. Prior to that, I had shot quite infrequently, and never with any focus. I got the bullseye pistol bug while learning the curriculum from Lt Col Adam Nyenhuis (then team member) that spring. It wasn't too long before I picked up a High Standard Victor and started going to bullseye leagues & matches, and practicing with the Marine Corps Red Book. I progressed through 850 on the .22 that summer, and picked up TSgt Kallan Slater's .45 Salyer wad gun in time to try out at team camp in October, where I was offered an opportunity to join the team as a developmental team member. In short time, I began to achieve 840's on the .45 and began working my way through the challenges of Service Pistol.
